How basic leave is divided in AFU: 15 days rule

Division of annual leave into parts. Updated: October 2026.

Quick Answer

The basic annual leave of 30 days can be divided into parts (2 blocks of 15 days each - a typical annual cycle), but at least 15 days must be taken continuously. The road - 2 days one way - is given for each part. Details below.

2×15
min. continuously for a year — a typical annual cycle
30 days
basic vacation is included
Road
up to 4 days - for each detachment

What in practice

Typical options: 15 days in the summer period + 15 days in the second half of the year. It is not possible to break it into smaller ones (for example, 5 days at a time) if it violates the rule of 15 days continuously. Road days do not "eat" vacation.
