Do you already need to know radio stations or communications to be a signalman in AFU?
Requirements for communicators AFU. Updated: October 2026.
No, you don't need to know the radio stations in advance. Signalmen in AFU are trained from scratch: working with equipment, radio networks, encryption, communication security techniques. Radio or IT experience is a plus, which accelerates learning. Details below.
Why communication is a critical area
Without communication, neither management, nor artillery calls, nor interaction between units works. A liaison officer is a technical role with high responsibility and constant daily workload.
Vacancy: communications and headquarters.
