What is an individual first aid kit in AFU: composition and application
Individual first aid kit of a serviceman AFU. Updated: October 2026.
Each serviceman AFU has an individual first aid kit: tourniquets, pressure bandages, hemostatic agents, occlusive stickers and a marker to mark the time of applying the tourniquet. During training, they teach how to assemble a first-aid kit, and how to use it - in the dark, under stress, by touch. Details below.
The composition of an individual first-aid kit
- tourniquet to stop massive bleeding;
- pressure bandage for large wounds;
- hemostatic means for very heavy bleeding;
- occlusive stickers for chest injuries;
- a marker to mark the time of applying the turnstile;
- scissors, gloves and additional consumables according to the protocol.
How to teach how to use a first aid kit
During training, new recruits practice working with each item of the first aid kit: apply a tourniquet in seconds, find it in the dark by touch, mark the time. It is also important to know where the first-aid kits of fellow citizens are located - the victim cannot always help himself.
Procedure for injury: TCCC protocol in AFU.
