What if I don't have military training?

Service without military training in AFU: guarantees of training. Updated: October 2026.

Quick Answer

It's okay. All are trained prior to duty in AFU: for recruits, this is Basic Combined Arms Training (BCAT) (Basic Military Training)—including medical training: first aid, TCCC basics, and survival skills—and further specialist training. You come to the tasks prepared, and lack of preparation is not a reason to refuse admission. Details below.

Preparation logic in AFU

In AFU, training is an essential part of every soldier's journey. The order is as follows:

  1. An application and a conversation with a recruiter - you don't need to find anything here and know how.
  2. Military Medical Commission (MMC) and documents.
  3. Basic Combined Arms Training (BCAT) - Every recruit's basic skills: weapons, tactics, first aid (TCCC basics), survival.
  4. Vocational training is already for your role.
  5. Joining the unit — working under the supervision of experienced teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get into combat missions "right off the street"?

No. Recruits in AFU are not sent to perform tasks before passing Basic Combined Arms Training (BCAT) and professional training.

What if during my training I realize that the role is not for me?

Tell the commander or instructor - after the training, a change of role or additional professional training is planned. This is a normal process, not a "failed" statement.

Will they teach how to save life — their own and that of others?

Yes. First Aid and the Basics of Tactical Combat Care (TCCC) is mandatory for every service member and is a training priority in AFU. Details: medical training and survival in AFU.

Do you need a sports class or special training?

No. A basic physical form is enough - it is developed directly during training.
