What happens to the 18-24 program if I do not have military training in AFU?
Preparation in the program 18–24. Updated: October 2026.
Before performing official tasks, everyone undergoes the necessary training. For recruits 18–24, this is basic military training (Basic Combined Arms Training (BCAT))—weapons, tactics, first aid, TCCC basics, survival—and subsequent role-specific training. Details below.
Sequence of preparation in 18–24
Application → training (Basic Combined Arms Training (BCAT), including first aid, TCCC basics and survival) → professional training → alignment → assignment. So you'll be training from the ground up for the tasks, just like every AFU recruit.
